What is Roo Code Integration?

Roo Code is an open-source AI-powered coding assistant that helps developers write, review, and debug code more efficiently. Unbound Security has modified Roo Code to support our AI Gateway, allowing you to leverage the power of AI coding assistance while maintaining enterprise-grade security, cost control, and compliance. This integration allows you to use Roo Code with your Unbound API keys, ensuring that all AI requests go through your secure gateway with proper guardrails, routing, and monitoring.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the integration, ensure you have:
  • Unbound Application: A configured application in your Unbound Security dashboard
  • Unbound API Key: Generated from your application settings
  • Roo Code: Unbound-modified version of Roo Code installed

Step-by-Step Integration Guide

Step 1: Get Your Unbound API Key

  1. Navigate to your Unbound application in the dashboard
  2. Go to the Overview tab to view your application details
  3. Copy your API Key from the application settings (e.g., 4922c*****cd9b9)

Step 2: Configure Roo Code

  1. Open Command Palette (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + P)
  2. Type “Roo Code: Open Settings” and select it
  3. In provider settings select “unbound” as the API provider
  4. Paste your copied API key into the “Unbound API Key” text box
  5. From the model dropdown, select your preferred model
  6. Click “Done” to save your settings
